LFBM 2026 draws to a close with one of the great landmarks of Baroque music: J.S. Bach’s Mass in B minor, performed by the visionary La Nuova Musica.

By turns radiant, intimate, exhilarating, and profound, the Mass in B minor stands among Bach’s greatest achievements in sacred music, bringing together virtuosic choruses and expressive arias in a work of extraordinary spiritual and emotional range.

La Nuova Musica is firmly established as one of the most distinctive voices in the early music field, celebrated for performances that are vivid, stylish, and deeply expressive. Under the direction of founder and artistic director David Bates, the ensemble strives to reveal new perspectives on familiar repertoire.
