London Handel Festival favourites La Nuova Musica and their dynamic Musical Director David Bates return to close the Spring Awakenings Festival with a concert performance of the sublime three-act Italian opera Arianna in Creta. First performed in 1734 at the King’s Theatre, Arianna in Creta is a powerful work recounting the tempestuous Greek legend of Theseus and Arianna on the magical island of Crete.

Featuring a highly acclaimed cast including two International Handel Singing Competition alumni and international Handel superstar Sonia Prina, who makes her debut at the Festival singing the role of Carilda.  

Come and experience this rare performance of an operatic treasure in the beautiful setting of Handel’s church.
