Handel’s Unsung Heroes at St Martin in the Fields

Saturday May 21 2022 at 7:30pm
St Martin in the Fields

La Nuova Musica
David Bates
conductor
Tim Mead countertenor

La Nuova Musica is joined by star countertenor Tim Mead to explore exceptional arias from Handel’s operas in the Spring Season at St Martin in the Fields including pieces from Teseo, Rinaldo, Amadigi, Rodrigo, Orlando, Giulio Cesare, Il trionfo del Tempo e del Disinganno and Ariodante.

We are sorry to announce that Iestyn Davies is no longer able to perform in this concert as initially advertised, due to covid. Please join us in wishing Iestyn a speedy recovery and thanking eminent Handelian Tim Mead for stepping in at such short notice.

Tim Mead is praised for his “alluring” and “consistently excellent” interpretations (New York Times). With his “rich, mellifluous sound” (Guardian), he is recognised as one of the finest across the generations of counter-tenors and one of our long-standing favourite collaborators. We’re so glad to welcome him to the stage for ‘Handel's Unsung Heroes’
