Arias by Tomaso Traetta, Mozart, Haydn and Gluck

Paula Murrihy Mezzo Soprano

The little known Neapolitan composer Tomaso Traetta contributed hugely to the development of not only opera seria, but also to the expansion of the orchestra. He was much influenced by Gluck and Rameau, and the arias chosen from 4 different operas (not heard since the 18th century) harmonize the lyrics with virtuosic music. We are delighted to welcome the exceptional Irish Mezzo Soprano, Paula Murrihy to perform with LNM for the first time.
