Purcell’s Finest Verses - The Film

On Friday 12th Feb 2021, we streamed the online premiere of a new 45 minute ‘Director’s Cut’ film of our Purcell’s Finest Verses series. The film includes previously unseen backstage footage and interviews and is introduced by David Bates, Andy Staples and Tim Mead. We hosted the event with Greengage Ventures who produce and host digital performances.

The programme consists of three parts:

1. Welcome and introduction
2. Purcell's Finest Verses, a concert-come-documentary of Purcell's finest songs for countertenor and tenor voice.
3. Post-show discussion and live recording session with the artists. Audience members were invited to ask questions to any of David Bates, Tim Mead, Andy Staples and Emily Ingram (Founder of Greengage). Then, the artists recorded and mixed a bonus performance live! See what goes into making ensemble music during these strange times.
