La Nuova Musica is delighted to announce the appointment of Jordan Potter as Principal Viola.

Originally from the North East of England, Jordan is an established and highly sought-after viola player, performing extensively throughout the UK and internationally. He studied at the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester, before completing further training at London's Royal Academy of Music, where he specialised in Historical Performance under Jane Rogers.

Jordan already holds a principal position with The English Concert, and is a core member player with the Academy of Ancient Music, alongside his new role with La Nuova Musica. He is regularly invited to appear as guest principal viola with other distinguished period instrument ensembles, and his work has taken him to many of the world's leading concert halls and festivals.

Alongside his period instrument work, Jordan is equally active in more modern repertoire, contributing to a wide range of performances and recording sessions for television, film and radio.

Away from the viola, he complements his music career by practising as a qualified therapeutic counsellor across a variety of professional settings, including his own private practice, supporting a diverse range of clients, a background that brings a particular quality of listening to his musicianship.

We are thrilled to welcome Jordan into the La Nuova Musica family, and look forward to audiences hearing him with the ensemble soon.
